Cocoa Sustainability Assistant

GCB Cocoa is currently seeking a Cocoa Sustainability Assistant to support delivery of its sustainability programme, Good Cocoa & Beyond. The Cocoa Sustainability Assistant will play a key role in the strategic development and management of the programme, ensuring effective project implementation and the achievement of the group’s sustainability goals. Organised and self-motivated, with excellent project management skills and the ability to work flexibly and deliver effectively, the Cocoa Sustainability Assistant will work closely with the global Cocoa Sustainability Manager, as well as with the sustainability project teams at origin to deliver meaningful change for cocoa farmers and cocoa-growing communities and promote a sustainable supply chain. |

Project Management Support |
|
|
Write and review project proposals and reports |
|
Review and prepare budgets, monitor expenditure, and report against budgets |
|
Accompany project implementation, including supporting day-to-day operations and coordinating project partners to deliver activities and achieve objectives |
|
Track project data, including reviewing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and assess project progress |
|
|
|
Communications & Marketing |
|
|
Prepare presentations on sustainability strategy and present these to suppliers, customers and other relevant stakeholders |
|
Prepare promotional materials such as videos, brochures and social media posts |
|
|
|
Programme Management |
|
|
Draft and reviews relevant policies and procedures |
|
Support strategy development / review, and update accompanying strategic documents and frameworks as needed |
|
Support Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL), including gathering and collating project data, analysing programme effectiveness and preparing impact reports |
|
Maintain programme databases and frameworks |

Contribute to the development of new projects and initiatives, in line with the programme’s strategy |

Identify funding opportunities and prepare funding proposals |

- Project design and implementation in rural/agricultural settings in Africa, Asia or Latin America to improve farming household livelihoods.

Skills / Knowledge |
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Demonstrable interest in sustainability, sustainable supply chains and/or responsible sourcing
- Proficient understanding of socio-economic and environmental sustainability issues, especially across supply chains
- IT Skills, including ability to manage and analyse data, and maintain databases
- Written and oral communication
- Interpersonal Skills: ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders, build effective relationships, and drive collaboration, including cross-culturally and cross-functionally

- Knowledge of agricultural supply chains
- Experience of working with companies on corporate responsibility or sustainable supply chain issues
- Knowledge of key thematic areas of intervention e.g. third-party certification, living income, human rights, climate change, and traceability
- Proficiency in French and/or Spanish
